Description
Study Rooms are intended to support academic work by Wake Tech students working on group projects or studying together. A valid student ID is required to check out a study room. Priority use of the rooms will be given to students (in good library standing) using them for academic study. They are not intended for use as general-purpose classrooms. Due to the popularity of these rooms, the library has established reservation policies for their use.
- A valid student ID is required to check out a study room.
- Library staff will cancel room reservations if violations of the following policies are reported to them. Visit the circulation/information desk for assistance.
- Rooms NF #353, #355, #357, #371, #373, #375 can be reserved by currently enrolled students for use by one person only.
- All other rooms can only be reserved by groups of current Wake Tech students. A group is considered to be two or more people. As per safety guidelines, only 6 people (maximum) will be allowed in the study rooms at any given time.
- Rooms can be reserved for up to 2 hours by an individual or group.
- The person who is responsible for (or checks out) the room MUST remain in the room at all times; otherwise the reservation/checkout is canceled, and the room will be available for use by another group.
- You may only have one active room reservation at a time.
- Rooms are meant to be shared by as many student groups as possible. Back-to-back and/or multiple reservations by a group are not allowed and may be canceled by library staff if rooms are in high demand.
- If after 10 minutes a group fails to appear, the reservation can be canceled by Library staff and the room can be scheduled for another group. This is also true if only one person is using a room intended for group use.
- Rooms can be reserved up to 1 week in advance.
- Instructors cannot reserve rooms for classroom use, office hours, or class meetings.
- Non-Wake Tech patrons and off-campus borrowers (Alumni, Community, etc.) cannot reserve these rooms. Study rooms are only available to current students.
- You decide what to enter in the "Group Name," and anyone can see that field. Your Wake Tech ID will not be publicly visible. Past room reservation information is kept for statistical purposes and would be disclosed to law enforcement upon request.
- No food or drinks are allowed in study rooms, adhering to the College’s Food and Drink Policy. All students must leave study rooms in a clean condition.
- Wake Tech Libraries Code of Conduct applies to the use of study rooms. Repeated policy violations may result in loss of privileges to use the study rooms.
- STUDY ROOMS ARE NOT SOUNDPROOF. Please be conscientious of your neighbors.
