Space Availability - Eagle Zone (EZ) Studios

The Wake Tech library is pleased to announce the availability of the new studios, easy-to-use digital video production studios that require no prior video production experience. The studios, located in SD 114 (South Campus) and NF 343 (North Campus), are available for use to faculty, staff, and students (Wake Tech ID required). Examples of studio projects include:

  • Creating videos for online instruction
  • Rehearsing for class presentations
  • Creating video for recruitment, training, or professional development seminars
  • Practicing public speaking skills
  • Using the green screen to create visual effects
  • Recording a group interview or podcast
  • And so much more!

The studios are made possible thanks to funding from US Department of Education grant no. P116F150082.

Quick Start Guide

  1. Reserve the studio online
    • Reservations available in 30 minute blocks, up to 2 hours per day
    • Reservations available up to 2 weeks in advance
    • Select the desired reservation slot below and confirm your reservation
    • No food or drink is permitted in the studio
  2. Visit the Front Desk to check-in
    • Visit the front desk in the library to gain access to the studio (requires Wake Tech ID)
    • 8 GB flash drives may be available to check out
  3. Record your video(s) in the studio
    • Make sure you have enough space on your USB flash drive - a 1 GB flash drive will record approximately 25 minutes of footage (2 GB minimum recommended)
    • Turn on lights and ON button at the top of the workstation. You won't be able to record until the on button stops blinking
    • Choose recording mode (gray screen, green screen, PC projection, document camera projection, or PC full-screen) and hit the START RECORD button
    • Wait until the warning screen and countdown are complete before starting your recording
    • Once finished, hit the STOP RECORD button and WAIT until after the warning screen disappears (approx. 30 seconds)
    • When finished, remove your USB from the dock
      • Optional - use the workstation PC to check your video
  4. Before you leave
    • Return the furniture to original positions
    • Hit the OFF button to power down the camera, projector, and lights
    • Turn off studio lights as you leave
