Equipment Catalog

The Makerspace, located in NF 153 on the lower level of the Scott Northern Wake Campus Library (Building F), provides hands-on access to a variety of emerging technologies.

Who Can Use It: Wake Tech students, faculty, staff, and community members

Equipment Available Includes:

  • 3D printers and 3D scanners
  • Electronic prototyping kits
  • Sewing and embroidery machines
  • 3D pens
  • Large poster printer
  • Professional microphones
  • DSLR camera
  • Laser cutter
  • ...and many other Maker tools

Steps to Reserve and Access the Makerspace:

Make a Reservation:

Wake Tech ID or community borrower card and photo ID are required to access the Makerspace. Please check in at the library circulation desk.


  • All users must first watch the orientation video and complete the waiver before booking or using the Makerspace.
  • Room and equipment reservations are booking requests and not guaranteed. Approval is based on availability.
  • Makerspace hours are subject to staff availability and may vary.
  • All users must check in with a Wake Tech ID or community borrower card and photo ID at the circulation desk before accessing the space.
  • The Makerspace is intended for creative, educational, and research-related use. Users are expected to treat equipment and the space with care.
  • Repeated policy violations or misuse of equipment may result in restricted access.

Before using the Makerspace, all users must:

Wake Tech Libraries Makerspace Usage Agreement (2023–2024):

  1. Personal Responsibility: I accept full responsibility for my conduct and safety while using Makerspace tools and materials.
  2. Agreement Duration: Valid through May 10, 2024. Loan durations are based on enrollment status.
  3. Consultation and Training: I will consult with staff and complete any required training before use.
  4. Compliance with Policies: I will follow all Library and Makerspace rules and signage.
  5. Equipment Responsibility: I am solely responsible for equipment while checked out and will report any issues immediately.
  6. Equipment Return and Fees: Unreturned equipment may result in replacement fees and holds on my student account.
  7. Legal Consequences: Wake Tech may pursue legal action to recover lost equipment fees.
  8. Voluntary Participation: I acknowledge that Makerspace use is voluntary and assume all risks involved.
  9. Violations and Disciplinary Actions: Policy violations may result in loss of access and student code of conduct consequences.
  10. Cost of Damages or Loss: I agree to pay for any damage or loss to Makerspace equipment, including accessories.
